Mrs. Orrell has lived in Dinwiddie County for 35 years and is widely recognized as an artist and documentary photographer. Her exhibition about a Dinwiddie County farming community (“From the Seed to the Hand”) traveled across the state through the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and earned her commendation from Dinwiddie County. This collection has now become part of the permanent collections at the Virginia Historical Society. Her documentary, “Greenport’s Men of the Sea,” exhibited in New York, and local installations “Dixie” and “Snow” have been enjoyed regionally. Mrs. Orrell is also a registered nurse, having worked in both public and private health care sectors. She currently is a chronic disease management care coordinator for Bon Secours Mercy Health System.
