Center for Nonprofit Excellence

The Foundation is partnering with the Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) to provide programs and services for area nonprofits to help build the organizations’ capacity to achieve mission. CNE’s work is divided into three elements:

  • Coordinating with Duke University to provide pre- and post-support for students who participate in the Cameron-sponsored Duke University Nonprofit Management Classes.
  • Providing support for organizations that previously have gone through a more intensive capacity-building track (also funded by Cameron) known as the Organizational Improvement Process.
  • Establishing criteria tailored to Cameron grantee organizations to participate in CNE’s Pathway to a Healthy Organization program, which serves nonprofits that demonstrate a willingness to invest in the effectiveness and efficiency of their organization. CNE also implements the program with these participating nonprofits.
